Early Spring 2011 is shaping up.

We have most of our 2010 white wines bottled and are working on our 2009 reds. Pruning is also moving ahead.

We have released, as promised, our 2008 Estate Pinot Noir, two silver medals in international competition to date. More to follow, we hope. It has received rave reviews at the winery.

Additionally, we have released our 2008 Tempranillo, so far only a double gold at the New Mexico State Fair. This Spanish grape should, in time, be the New Mexico signature red wine. It grows well in New Mexico and continues to produce award winning wines.

Our 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon, is also turning heads. This wine is the only Cab Sauv that I have made in 18 years, that is 100% Cab Sauv. Smooth and silky with a great tannin back bone. This one should lay down for 15 years or more. However, it is drinkable now.

Both our Tempranillo and Cab Sauv grapes were sourced from the New Mexico Vineyards in Deming, New Mexico.

This year we are replanting some of our Riesling vines. Thirty years ago we planted an acre of Riesling vines and like everyone else, we purchased these vines from the California Central Valley. Those vines are not a particularly cold-hardy clone. We have located and purchased a Riesling, clone 90, from Washington State's Inland Desert vineyards. These vines should be well suited to our climate. We will update you on their progress.

We continue to operate our winery tasting room 9 am to 5 pm on Tuesday - Saturday and 12 noon to 5 pm on Sunday. We are alway closed on Monday.

That is our shopping day in Albuquerque.

Come see us if you can. We would be delighted in providing you an opportunity to taste our New Mexico Wines.
